Yamaha F400 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar - Smoky Black

For those drawn to darker aesthetics – goths, metalheads, and Johnny Cash fans alike – the Yamaha F400 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar in Smoky Black offers a striking yet understated look with sound and playability that take centre stage.

This Yamaha acoustic guitar is crafted for musicians who value tone, comfort and expression above all else.

Arriving with a dreadnought-shaped body constructed with a spruce top, and locally sourced tonewoods for the back, sides and neck, it offers a full-bodied acoustic tone. It delivers on volume thanks to its ultra-thin polyurethane finish and carefully designed bracing that allows the spruce top to vibrate freely.

The big, sustained, and responsive voice delivers a balanced tone, making this Yamaha acoustic project loud.

Big Sound, Sleek Simplicity

Built with a smoky black spruce top and natural-looking locally sourced tonewoods for the back, sides and neck, the Yamaha F400 produces an impressively full-bodied tone.

Its dreadnought body shape ensures a powerful projection, while the ultra-thin polyurethane finish and thoughtfully engineered bracing allow the top to resonate freely for enhanced sustain and dynamic response. The result is a rich, balanced sound that suits everything from delicate fingerpicking to bold strumming.

For writing songs, learning your first chords, or recording at home, this Yamaha dreadnought acoustic guitar delivers clear, bell-like tones that inspire creativity in every session.

Effortless Playability

Designed for comfort, the F400 features a 25-inch (634 mm) scale length neck with slightly narrower string spacing, making it easy to fret chords and transition smoothly across the fingerboard. The rosewood fretboard adds warmth and a smooth touch under the fingers, reducing fatigue during long playing sessions.

Minimalist, Organic Design

The Smoky Black finish gives the Yamaha F400 a distinctive and darker contemporary appeal. Free from binding or pickguard, its minimalist design highlights the natural beauty of the wood and keeps the focus on performance.

Subtle touches like the white soundhole inlay complement its understated look, while chrome tuners and a rosewood bridge add a clean, classic finish.

With its modern design, balanced tone and exceptional comfort, the Yamaha F400 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar stands as an ideal choice for songwriters, students, and performers seeking a stylish, high-quality instrument that sounds as good as it looks.
