Each VM-80 monitor has dual Class D amplifiers and a high-resolution 96 kHz DSP, offering an expansive frequency range and crystal-clear audio reproduction. Designed for efficiency, these monitors minimise distortion while delivering a high-energy sound. The robust 4 mm aluminium front baffle adds clarity by reducing unwanted resonance and vibration, so you hear every detail as it was meant to be heard.
Premium-Grade Components
The VM-80 studio monitors feature advanced 96 kHz DSP and twin Class D amplifiers. They deliver wide-range audio with stunning precision, perfect for DJing and production.
These high-performance speakers generate a powerful, dynamic sound while minimising distortion.
A solid 4 mm aluminium front panel reinforces the structure, significantly reducing unwanted vibrations and resonance, which can be an issue with monitors, especially if your style of music is loud and angry. The result is an accurate, true-to-source listening experience, perfect for producers and DJs who demand reliable sound in any setting.
Durable and Robust Design
These active monitors from Pioneer DJ feature a hexagonal aluminium front baffle, which enhances sound clarity and overall durability in the speaker design. The rigid construction helps suppress unwanted vibrations and reduces distortion, ensuring clean, accurate audio reproduction even at high volumes.
A sturdy protective guard shields the tweeter from potential knocks, especially in a busy studio or DJ environment, maintaining the integrity of the high-frequency output over time. Finished with a premium Alumite-treated brushed surface, these monitors exude a refined, professional aesthetic that perfectly complements your Pioneer DJ setup. With their sleek design and robust build, the VM-80s are made to perform and impress in any studio or performance space.
Clean and Punchy Bass
As the largest model in the VM Series, the VM-80 boasts a powerful 8" woofer crafted from advanced Aramid fibre. Engineered for impactful low-end performance, this woofer delivers deep, punchy bass and rich low-mid frequencies. This low-end capability is perfect for DJS needing a thumping bass. The innovative design is 30% lighter than traditional paper-lined Aramid cones, improving speed, strength, and a broader frequency response.
The VM-80 features Pioneer DJ’s Vortex Bass Accelerator for even tighter bass response. This technology minimises unwanted vibrations while enhancing clarity, so every low-frequency element is delivered with precision. Special ribbing within the bass reflex port optimises airflow, reducing distortion and ensuring a clean, accurate sound that stays true to the original mix.
Constant Directivity Horn
The VM-80 features a constant directivity horn for clear, powerful mid and high frequencies across a wide listening area. Its precision-engineered horn and woofer edge work together to ensure smooth integration with the tweeter, delivering balanced, natural sound throughout the full frequency range.
DSP control
The VM Series speakers offer a flat, accurate sound for reference monitoring. Built-in DSP settings let you tailor the output to your room. On the rear panel, two EQ knobs — Low and High — each provide four click-stop options, allowing 16 total sound adjustments.
The VM Series adapts easily to any space, perfect for DJs and producers, from home studios to professional environments.
DSP Control Settings
LOW EQ
You can use this to adjust the bass, depending on the location of your speaker and the sound you want for DJing or producing music.
- L1: Room 1: Perfect for late-night sessions or setups where your speaker is placed close to a wall, this mode applies a 6 dB high-pass filter at 63 Hz to reduce low-end frequencies—helping to keep bass levels controlled and preventing excessive rumble.
- L2: Flat: Designed to deliver an accurate and uncoloured sound, this flat frequency response setting is ideal for music production in acoustically treated environments. It's the go-to choice for producers seeking precise monitoring.
- L3: Room 2: This setting boosts the bass by 2.5 dB at 50 Hz using a bell EQ, making it ideal for larger rooms or whenever you want your sound to have more punch without overwhelming clarity.
- L4: Club Bass: For maximum impact, this mode adds serious weight to the bass with a 5 dB boost at 50 Hz and an additional 2 dB lift at 200 Hz. It's the ultimate choice for recreating a powerful, club-style sound—perfect for parties or DJing when you want the bass to hit hard.
HIGH EQ
You can use this to adjust the treble, depending on the location of your speaker and the sound you want for DJing or producing music.
- H1: Room 1: This mode tones down the high frequencies with a 3 dB cut from 3.5 kHz to 12 kHz via a high-shelf EQ—ideal for taming bright, echoey rooms where treble can feel overwhelming or harsh.
- H2: Flat: This flat setting is best for music production in acoustically treated spaces. It offers a balanced, unaltered frequency response, making it the preferred choice for accurate monitoring and critical listening.
- H3: Room 2: This setting boosts frequencies by 3 dB at 7 kHz with a high-shelf EQ, helping details shine through in spaces lacking top-end clarity.
- H4: Bright Treble: Using bell EQS, enhance detail and presence with a 1.5 dB boost at 4 kHz and an extra 3.5 dB lift at 8 kHz. This setting brings out the finer textures in instruments like cymbals, guitars, and brass—ideal for adding sparkle and definition to your mix.
