At the heart of the Volca Nubass are a pair of vacuum tubes. One generates a sawtooth/square wave, while the other drives the sub oscillator. This adds huge depth and warmth by an octave below the oscillator. The Nutube technology delivers a fresh, harmonic character.

Featuring a 16-step sequencer, the Volca Nubass is excellent for driving your tunes wherever you play. Use the motion sequence function to record knob movements, applying parameter changes over time to the sound.

Analogue Driver Circuit Adds Thickness

Nubass is equipped with an overdrive that uses an analogue circuit reminiscent of a classic stompbox. Turning the knob to the right compresses the volume while introducing mild distortion, adding thickness to your bass sounds.

The tone knob also allows you to adjust the crispness of the high-frequency range.

The motion sequence function records knob movements, applying parameter changes over time. Perfect for creating loops or enhancing live performances with evolving textures.

Up to 16 sequence patterns with motion sequences can be saved in memory. An active step function enables you to skip steps during playback, making your sequences more dynamic and expressive in real-time.

Three Functions To Create Grooves On Volca Nubass

The sequencer offers three performance functions that incorporate classic acid bass techniques: transpose, accent, and slide.

Transpose lets you play a note one or two octaves higher, adding movement while staying within the scale. Accent emphasises a note for more expressive dynamics. The slide function, essential to acid-style basslines, ensures smooth transitions between notes.

Randomised settings can be applied to these functions, generating unpredictable variations. Updating the randomise settings keeps your patterns fresh, inspiring new ideas and grooves.

Connectors For Synchronised Performance And External Control

The unit features a sync jack for easy connection to Korg groove machines, Volca series units or devices like the Electribe or SQ-1. Enjoy synchronised playback with the sequencer. A standard MIDI IN connector also allows the Volca Nubass to work as a sound module in your DAW.
